Assist with the operation of electrocardiograph equipment to recordthe electromotive variations in heart muscle actions; assist in thecoding, filing and distribution of EKG data. Perform as a member of thecardiac arrest team, obtaining ECG record of events; assist emergencysituations by initiating and/or assisting in emergency procedu resprescribed by hospital policies.
Work Performed
* Assist with the operation of electrocardiograph equipment to recordthe electromotive variations in heart muscle actions. *Prepare patientfor electrocardiogram by explaining testing procedures and fasteningelectrod es to specific areas of arms, legs, and chest. *Assist inentering patie nt information into electrocardiograph including historynumber and patie nt'sname. *Remove electrodes, add billing charge torequisition slip; a ssist with review of electrocardiogram for technicalacceptability and ra te. *Assist in mounting electrocardiograms forinterpretation by physici an; assist in coding and distributing EKGdata; record and file informati on relating to tests performed. *Assistwith cleaning, adjusting and per forming routine maintenance onequipment to ensure proper functioning. * Perform other related dutiesincidental tothe work described herein.
