The Exercise Physiologist provides assessment, orientation, education, treatment, and care for adult and geriatric patients in phase I through phase IV of Cardiac Rehab. Program. The Lead Exercise Physiologist assumes responsibility and accountability for assisting the patients in achieving their optimal functional capacity through exercise, education, and risk factor modification.
- Knowledge of and ability to accurately assess vital signs and cardiac rhythms.
- Knowledge of common cardiac medications
- Thorough knowledge of coronary anatomy and physiology, risk factors for coronary artery disease and signs and symptoms of cardiac distress.
- Understanding of the various Cardiac Rehab. diagnoses
- At least six months of internship or experience in a Cardiac Rehab Program
- Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology, or Exercise science required. Masters degree preferred.
- BCLS and ACLS
- LA City Fire Card within 6 months of employment
