UCSF Medical Center Fetal Treatment Center has an opening for a Per Diem experienced Genetic Counselor to be part of our prenatal genetics team. Join a multidisciplinary team of Pediatric Surgeons, Perinatologists, Nurses and Nurse Practitioners, Neonatologists, Geneticists, Pediatric Cardiologists, and residents/fellows to provide genetic counseling for patients seen through the Fetal Treatment Center Clinics. Provide information and support regarding a wide variety of fetal malformations and genetic disorders. The position will also include close interaction and collaboration with the genetic counselors in the Prenatal Diagnostic Center as well as in the department of Pediatrics Medical Genetics Program. In addition, we are seeking to grow our outreach programs, and this position will include working to establish collaborations and in helping to communicate with providers and patients throughout our large referral network. Providers within the UCSF Fetal Treatment Program all participate in the clinical teaching of residents and medical students, as well as fellows from a variety of disciplines. The UCSF Fetal Treatment Program also has several active research programs underway, and this position will include some involvement in clinical research studies. This is an outstanding opportunity to work in a world-renowned program at a brand new, state of the art hospital at Mission Bay.
UCSF Medical Center requires all Advanced Practice Providers (APP) to be credentialed through its Office of Medical Affairs & Governances (OMAG) in order to practice and function in their clinical role. This applies to both adult and pediatric APPs in the inpatient and outpatient clinical settings at all UCSF Medical Center sites (Parnassus, Mt. Zion, Satellite Clinics, et al). Credentialing and approval of the Standardized Procedures takes between 30-60 days and must be completed prior to the first working day. Required Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations
Experience within in the past two years working in maternal medicine providing care to high-risk obstetric patients.

Excellent written and oral communication and counseling skills

Board certified by the American Board of Genetic Counseling or the American Board of Medical Genetics
Must hold current Genetic Counselor Licensure in the state of California
Current BLS/ AHA certification
