Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiac Catheterization/Electrophysiology
The Cardiac Catherization/Electrophysiology RN provides direct patient care to patients undergoing diagnostic, interventional coronary, peripheral, renal and electrophysiology studies. The RN communicates with the physician on an ongoing basis regarding patients' condition and medication for the procedure. The RN follows standards of the AORN regarding procedures in the Cath Lab Suites and AHA when treating lethal arrythmias. The registered nurse provides care and counseling of persons or in the promotion and maintenance of health and prevention of illness and injury based upon the nursing process which includes systematic data gathering, assessment, appropriate nursing judgment, and evaluation of human responses to actual or potential health problems through such services as case finding
