To perform electrocardiograms, to provide data for diagnosis of heart abnormalities.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform EKG tracings for Christiana and Wilmington Hospitals.
Ability to work in Emergency Dept and Outpatient office as well as work on all floors and units.
Transfer EKG into EMR.
Perform pacemaker device interrogations in Christiana ED.
Prioritizes work orders including STAT, timed and routine orders.
Sign off all completed EKGs.
Cleans and stocks ekg machine for critical care units.
Demonstrates skills and knowledge necessary to provide care appropriate to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, including knowledge of growth and development, the ability to obtain and interpret information to identify patient needs, and to provide the care needed.
Performs assigned work safely, adhering to establish departmental safety rules and practices. Reports to supervisor, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.
Performs other related duties as required.
**ABLE TO WORK ALL 3 SHIFTS ROTATION**
Christiana/Wilmington LOCATION, rotating shifts to include day, evening and midnight. Every other weekend and every other holiday.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
High School graduate or its equivalent.
Basic CCU in-service and medical terminology. EKG experience preferred.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
Yearly EKG competency & critical results review w/certificate of completion, BEAT class training upon hire/transfer certificate of completion, and CPR W/AED certification (2 years).
