Assistant, Associate or Full Professor (HS Clinical, Clinical X) Pediatric Interventional Cardiologist University of California San Diego The University of California, San Diego (http://www.pediatrics.ucsd.edu) is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body. The Division of Cardiology in the Department of Pediatrics is seeking Interventional Pediatric Cardiologists. The successful candidates will join a world-class team of pediatric cardiologists at Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego. The 524-bed non-profit pediatric care facility is dedicated to excellence in care, research, and teaching serves as a major regional tertiary care hospital for children. The Division of Pediatric Cardiology consists of thirty faculty with depth in the full range of cardiac subspecialties and two experienced cardiac surgeons who are board certified in pediatric cardiovascular surgery. There is a CVICU with 24/7 staffing by 7 cardiac intensivists and a cardiac inpatient unit totaling 32 beds. Annual program volumes include about 400 cardiac surgeries, over 600 cardiac catheterizations, more than 18,000 echocardiograms and outpatient visits. The Division has excelled in every aspect of its clinical mission, and strives to provide culturally competent care for children and families. Candidates must have an MD, MD/PhD or equivalent and must have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California. Candidates must be board certified/eligible in Pediatrics and must have sub-board certification/eligibility in pediatric cardiology. Candidates must have completed a fourth year of subspecialty training in interventional cardiology. Academically committed candidates with significant experience in pediatric interventional cardiology, a record of research and have clinical expertise in all types of diagnostic and catheter-based cardiovascular interventions are preferred. Candidates with at least 3 years of experience and with a unique skill set and/or significant record of research are also preferred. The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate of Full Professor level will be based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.
