The Nemours Cardiac Center seeks a full time Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist to join the Division of Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care at the A.I. DuPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, Delaware.
Cardiac Intensivists are central members to our integrated practice unit comprised of cardiovascular surgeons, cardiologists, anesthesiologists, mid-level and allied health providers all of whom work in a dedicated Center consisting of a 14 bed cardiac ICU, a 17 bed inpatient unit, a cardiac PACU, a dedicated cardiac OR and a catheterization laboratory.
Our program provides high value care with exceptional outcomes as demonstrated by our acquisition of the coveted Three Star Rating based upon the STS Congenital Heart Surgery’s Database. Our hospital is consistently ranked as one of the top children’s hospitals by US News and World Report and our Cardiac Center serves as a Center of Excellence within the Nemours organization.
Our intensivists care for a broad spectrum of congenital and acquired heart disease including those requiring complex neonatal cardiac repairs, mechanical support (VAD’s, E-CPR, ECCS and ECMO), cardiac transplantation, and innovative lymphatic procedures. Education of our PICU, Neonatal and Cardiology fellows, as well as participation in quality improvement, national registries, multi-institutional studies and clinical research, is expected.
The ideal candidate should be Board certified or eligible in Pediatric Critical Care and/or Cardiology and/or Pediatric Anesthesia with additional training or experience in cardiac critical care. This position includes an academic appointment at the Thomas Jefferson University Sidney Kimmel Medical College at an academic rank commensurate with experience and performance.
